NEWS: Greener Together: Two More Quadruple Helix Work Cafés Held

Two new Quadruple Helix Model Work Café events were recently held within the GREENSMES project, organized by RDA Green Karst (Slovenia) and the Municipality of Herceg Novi (Montenegro). Both gatherings brought together businesses, academia, public institutions, and civil society to explore opportunities for the green transition and innovation in entrepreneurship.

On July 30, 2025, RDA GREEN Karst hosted its Work Café in Postojna under the title “Green Economy and Innovation in Entrepreneurship.” The event provided insights into financial support mechanisms and innovative solutions for SMEs. Presentations covered direct incentives for environmentally friendly investments, funding opportunities for sustainable products, and support for research and circular economy cooperation.

The discussions highlighted the need for tailored consulting, improved digital skills, stronger collaboration, and more accessible support measures to help SMEs thrive in the green transition.

4-Helix Model Work Café by Municipality of Herceg Novi

On August 19, 2025, the Municipality of Herceg Novi organized a Work Café dedicated to opportunities in the green economy and innovation. Participants from all four helix sectors explored local needs and potentials for green innovation. The program included an introduction to the GREENSMES project, examples of circular business models and sustainable growth, as well as an interactive Work Café session and moderated discussion on green entrepreneurship.

The workshop concluded with networking, creating space for future collaboration and initiatives to strengthen a sustainable business environment.

Strengthening the Green Transition

Both events confirmed the importance of the Quadruple Helix approach as a driver of innovation and sustainability. The insights from Postojna and Herceg Novi contribute to the GREENSMES vision of greener and more resilient SMEs across the Adrion region.
