EVENTS: Green Business in Puglia: 1st High-Level Event

On Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 09:00, TECNOPOLIS hosted the first thematic debate on the green economy at the Science and Technology Park. The event, organized within the framework of the GREENSMES project funded by the Interreg IPA ADRION Program 2021-2027, brought together business stakeholders, institutions, citizens, and experts.

TECNOPOLIS, as the lead partner of the GREENSMES project, continues to build on the legacy of numerous previous activities by the Science and Technology Park of the University of Bari. For Puglia, investing in the green economy represents a chance to create new jobs in sectors like renewable energy, energy efficiency, organic farming, and sustainable tourism. It also aims to diversify the regional economy, reduce reliance on traditional industries, cut greenhouse gas emissions, and promote climate change adaptation.

The event addressed the broader concept of sustainability, which extends beyond environmental concerns to include financial, social, and ethical considerations. One of the key topics discussed was aligning investments with ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) ratings.

Partners from nine ADRION countries—Croatia, Slovenia, Albania, Greece, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina—participated in the event.

This platform fostered discussion and networking among regions with distinct characteristics but shared aspirations for a more sustainable, just, and ethical future.
